1 killed, 2 shot, 3 stabbed in Dupont Circle

A man has died following a shooting and stabbing in Dupont Circle early this morning, police said.

About 2:30 a.m., police responded to the 1300 block of Connecticut Avenue NW, according to Metropolitan Police.

A fight began inside of the Heritage India restaurant and club, said MPD chief Cathy Lanier.

The fight spilled out onto the sidewalk at which point three men were shot and three men were stabbed.

One of the people stabbed was found inside the bar, Lanier said.

All of the people involved reside in Maryland, she said. All were taken to area hospitals.

A man later died from gunshot wounds, police said.

The conditions of the other people were not immediately available.

Police are investigating and no other information was immediately available.
