Albert Haynesworth released by New England Patriots
November 8, 2011 - 02:02 pm
The New England Patriots have cut defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, the Boston Herald reports.
Haynesworth, whom the Washington Redskins traded to New England during the offseason, appeared in six games for the Patriots this season. He has only recorded three tackles in those appearances.
In 20 games with the Redskins in 2009 and 2010, Haynesworth recorded 6.5 sacks, but was often cited for his poor conditioning and attitude problems.
On July 29, the Redskins traded him to the Patriots for a 2013 third-round draft pick.
Haynesworth did not play in the second half of the Patriots 24-20 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday.
More to come.
