Dumfries Road car accident sends at least one to hospital

A three-car accident in Prince William County sent at least one person to the hospital and has shut down a portion of westbound Dumfries Road.

Prince William County Police say that the accident occurred near the intersection of Dumfries Road and Tallon Drive just before 5:45 a.m.

Several people were injured in the wreck, including one person who had to be taken to an area hospital by helicopter.

The accident is under investigation. Only one lane of westbound and eastbound Dumfries Road gets by at this time.
