Herman Cain campaigning in Va. today
McLEAN, Va. (AP) - GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain is campaigning in northern Virginia.
The former pizza company executive who now leads the pack in several polls will speak to the Northern Virginia Technology Council Wednesday morning at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner. The NVTC frequently hosts high-profile political candidates and events.
At the event, Cain addressed the detractors and accusations that have cast a shadow over his campaign this week.
"They try to destroy you," Cain told the crowd. "We got a little of that this week."
Last week, the other Republican front-runner, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, made a campaign stop in northern Virginia, joined by Gov. Bob McDonnell.
