A serious, injury car crash shut down a portion of inbound New York Avenue in Northeast D.C. during the Tuesday morning rush hour.
The two-car accident occurred near the intersection of New York Avenue and Kendall Street Northeast just before 6 a.m.
D.C. Fire & EMS reports that one person, a 24-year-old man, was removed from one of the cars with serious leg injuries. The Associated Press reports that the victim is suffering from life-threatening injuries.
DDOT says that all lanes of New York Avenue have reopened. The inbound lanes were completely shut down for a period of time earlier this morning in the aftermath of the crash.
