James Edward Dibble charged with reckless driving in Lee Highway crash
The driver of the dump truck involved in Tuesday's fatal crash on Lee Highway has been arrested and charged with reckless driving, police say.
Fairfax County Police say that James Edward Dibble, 65, will appear in court on Feb. 2.
Police say Dibble, an Alexandria resident, was driving a dump truck southbound on Lee Highway near Sudley Road just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when he crossed into the northbound lane, striking the rear side of a Ford F-350.
The dump truck lost control and struck a Honda CRV, driven by 40-year-old Daniel S. Tulk of South Riding, head on.
Tulk was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford truck, a 40-year-old Aldie woman, sustained minor injuries. Each of the victims was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.
