Judge fines 6 arrested at protest with D.C. mayor
WASHINGTON (WJLA/AP) - A judge has fined a group of six people arrested with District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray during a protest on Capitol Hill in April, including Councilmember Jack Evans.

A Superior Court judge found the group blocked traffic and failed to obey police orders to disperse. Individuals were fined up to $200 Wednesday at the end of a two-day trial.
The mayor and 40 others were arrested April 11 after sitting down and blocking Constitution Avenue near the U.S. Capitol.
The group was protesting a compromise federal budget deal that imposed new restrictions on the District, including a a provision that would ban the District from spending local tax dollars on abortion.
After their arrests, the mayor and most protesters paid a $50 fine to get out of jail and have charges dropped.
Seven people arrested with the mayor decided to go to trial. One person was found not guilty.
