Magic Johnson Foundation holding HIV screenings nationwide

It has been 20 years to the day since Magic Johnson stunned the world by announcing that he had contracted the HIV virus and was ending his illustrious career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Two decades later, not only is Johnson surviving, he's thriving. On the 20th anniversary of his announcement, he's also making sure others have the chance to make sure they get tested.
Nov. 7 has been designated as "Point Forward Day" in more than a dozen cities across the country.
Point Forward Day is being called a national day of awareness for HIV and AIDS. On Monday, the Magic Johnson Foundation is pairing up with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation to hold free HIV testing events in 17 cities.
