Man arrested for robbing Wheaton 7-Eleven
A Laurel man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of Wheaton 7-Eleven store, police said.
Bernard Boyd, age 36, of Laurel, Md., was arrested Montgomery County Police said in a news release. Boyd is currently is a Prince George's County Correctional Center on unrelated charges, the release said.
During the investigation, detectives developed Boyd as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on November 3.
Boyd was arrested in connection with a Sept. 8 robbery at the store at 11406 Georgia Avenue.
A male suspect walked into the store and displayed a handgun while ordering the two employees to the ground. There were no customers in the store at the time, in the early hours of a Thursday.
The suspect ordered the employees to open the cash register and place cash into a plastic bag before fleeing the store.
