1 killed, 1 wounded in Northeast shooting

A man was fatally shot and another wounded as they were entering a convenience store in the Northeast early Saturday, police said.
At 12:55 a.m., two men were entering a store in the 1200 block of Mt. Olivet Road Northeast when they were approached by an attacker who shot them, police said.
One man was hit in the chest and the other suffered a gunshot wound to his right arm.
The men went to the intersection of Simms Place and Trinidad Avenue Northeast where the man shot in the chest succumbed to his wounds.
The second man was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No other information was immediately available.
