Man killed in crash on I-395
A man was struck and killed in a car crash on I-395 Monday evening, state police say.
The crash happened on northbound I-395 after the Seminary Road exit in Alexandria. State police say the man ran in front of a Toyota Sienna on northbound 395.
Troopers, called at 6:48 p.m., found the dead man on the highway. The driver of the 2004 Sienna that struck him remained at the scene, said state police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
The accident investigation is blocking the two left lanes.
Witnesses told police the man was running across lanes from the right shoulder. The Sienna, traveling in the far left lane, was unable to brake in time and hit the man, Geller said.
The victim was dressed in dark gray clothing, she said. His body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for identification.
The Sienna driver, a 47-year-old Alexandria man, was not injured and will not be charged, Geller said.
