Man who tried to kidnap girl, 14, still at large
A week ago, a man tried to grab a 14-year-old girl off the street while she was walking to school in Mount Vernon. Police are still searching for a suspect.
Police said the incident occurred at about 7 a.m. on Oct. 28. The girl was walking to school near the intersection of Quisenberry Drive and Kings Hill Court when a man driving an older model 4-door vehicle offered the girl a ride to school.
The girl refused and the suspect tried to grab her, police said.
Police have increased patrols in the area, but so far have made no arrests.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, 30 to 35 years old, 5’ 10”, with a thin mustache and wearing a dark, puffy coat.
