Metro closing 6 red line stations for track work
November 29, 2011 - 08:04 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - Metro says it is planning to close six red line stations this weekend for maintenance work.
The transit agency says the Brookland, Takoma, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont stations will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday until Monday morning.
Free shuttle bus service will be offered and riders are asked to add about 30 minutes to their travel time.
Maintenance work is also scheduled to affect two stations on the orange line over the weekend. Metro says buses will replace trains between the Cheverly and Deanwood stations, but the stations will remain open.
