Mico Briscoe, Joseph Jerome Mickens killed in separate NE shootings
WASHINGTON (AP) - Two men have been killed in separate shootings in the District of Columbia.
Both shootings occurred Saturday morning in northeast D.C.
Police say the first of the two shootings occurred after midnight Saturday, when officers responding to the 1200 block of Simms Place NE found two gunshot victims. One person, 18-year-old Mico Briscoe, died but the other victim was treated at a hospital and released.
Officers also responded to a second shooting after 10 a.m. at the 700 block of 19th Street NE. The victim is identified as 22-year-old Joseph Jerome Mickens, and he died at a hospital.
Police have not announced arrests in either shooting.
