Mother of alleged Sandusky victim to speak
The mother of one of the alleged victims of former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky will speak publicly for the first time in an exclusive interview with ABC News.
The woman, the mother of the boy named 'Victim 1' in the grand jury report, spoke with ABC's George Stephanopoulos. The interview is scheduled to air on Good Morning America on Friday, Nov. 11. An exclusive preview will be aired on ABC7 News at 11 p.m. Thursday.
The grand jury report describes that Sandusky allegedly fondled Victim 1 "on a number of occasions, performed oral sex on Victim 1 on a number of occasions and had Victim 1 perform oral sex on him on at least one occasion."
Sandusky met the alleged victim through his Second Mile charity when the boy was 11 or 12 years old, according to the documents. He is alleged to have taken the boy to events, including Penn State practices, and inviting the boy to sleep over at his house.
During those sleepover, the boy would stay in a basement bedroom. Sandusky allegedly made the boy lay on top of him, kissed him on the mouth and ultimately performed oral sex on him, the documents state. The victim eventually broke off contact with Sandusky.
In another incident, Sandusky inappropriately approached the boy at the boy's schools gym, where Sandusky was a coach. Another coach walked in on Sandusky and the boy "lying on their sides, in physical contact, face to face on a mat."
Sandusky was indicted on Nov. 4 and turned himself in to police the following day. Felony perjury charges were also brought against Tim Curley, Penn State's athletic director, and Gary Schultz, the school's vice president for finance and business, who allegedly knew of at least one incident in which Sandusky abused a boy in the Penn State locker room showers. The grand jury report states they did not report the incident to police.
Long-time Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and University President Graham Spanier were ousted Wednesday.
