Natasha Dasher, owner of Uniontown Bar and Grill, facing drug charges
WASHINGTON (AP) - The owner of a hip, new restaurant in Washington's Anacostia section is facing drug charges after investigators say 65 kilograms of cocaine were tracked from Texas to her office doorstep.
According to a federal Drug Enforcement Administration affidavit, agents also found the truck driver and three large duffel bags containing about $1.5 million in her office.
The Washington Post reported Sunday that 36-year-old Natasha Dasher, the owner of the Uniontown Bar and Grill that opened in February, was arrested Nov. 1. The restaurant owner, the driver and an associate are now charged in Maryland and Texas with drug possession with the intent to distribute.
Telephone calls by The Associated Press to attorneys listed in court records for Dasher were not immediately returned Sunday.
