Nelson Arthur Smith missing, Silver Alert issued
Montgomery County police have issued a silver alert in searching for a man who was last heard from Friday morning.
Nelson Arthur Smith from the 10200 block of Haywood Drive in Silver Spring was on his way this morning to visit a relative in Millersville, Md. He was expected to arrive there around 1:00 p.m. Friday, but has not been heard from since confirming his departure at 11:30 this morning.
Smith is a 73-year-old white male, with thinning white hair and blue eyes. He is 5’10” tall and weighs 225 pounds. He is believed to have his dog Rascal, a tan female Labrador mutt, with him.
He drives a steel blue 2008 Dodge Caliber with Maryland registration MLM345. He usually drives back roads from Silver Spring to Millersville, police said in a news release.
Smith takes medications for medical conditions, but does not have those medications with him.
Anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts is asked to call the Montgomery County Police at 301-279-8000.
