A group of D.C. residents have gathered in Sen. Mitch McConnell’s office to lobby for the Rebuild America Act Thursday and refuse to leave, according to the website of OurDC.
More than 20 OurDC members entered Sen. McConnell’s office shortly after 10 a.m. this morning, OurDC reports, pledging to remain until the Senate Minority Leader grants a face-to-face meeting on the Rebuild America Act.
In addition to their attempts to lobby McConnell, OurDC members are lobbying other senators via cell phone from McConnell’s office.
According to OurDC, the legislation would provide immediate highway and transit investments of at least $387.3 million in the District of Columbia that could support approximately 5,000 local jobs.
Roll Call reports that the group has been peaceful and quiet.
Capitol Police Spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider tells Roll Call that as of noon the force had received “no word of any issues there.”
OurDC says they will provide Twitter updates -- @thisisourdc -- as the Senate prepares to vote on the Rebuild America Act, which is one part of President Obama's American Jobs Act.

No one knows quite what Klout is, but these big 'myopic little twits' appear to have it.
