Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle near New Carrollton Metro station

A woman has been struck and killed by a vehicle in New Carrollton, police say.
The 57-year-old woman was hit early Tuesday morning in the 4200 block of Garden City Drive near the New Carrollton Metro station, according to Prince George's County Fire officials.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene, a spokesperson for the Prince George's County Police says. The victim was taken to a hospital, and was later pronounced dead.
Police are not sure if victim was coming from or going to the Metro station, but she was not in the crosswalk.
The off ramp for US 50 West at Ardwick Ardmore Road has been shut down.
