Relief expected for traffic in Tysons Corner
November 7, 2011 - 07:44 am
A new bridge has opened and ramps have been restored in Tysons Corner, bringing drivers relief.
By this morning's rush, all four lanes of the Beltway north will shift to the right onto a new bridge over Chain Bridge Road at Exit 46.
Shifting that traffic allows the reopening of the Chain Bridge Road north on-ramp to the Beltway north and the removal of the left turn lanes and traffic signal.
Crews have also re-opened the left lanes on Chain Bridge Road in both directions at the Beltway, restoring it to full capacity.
Additionally, the ramp from the Beltway north to Chain Bridge Road south is now one lane with the merge lane restored on Chain Bridge Road and the traffic signal removed.
