Richard Branson invests in Square
November 9, 2011 - 07:22 am
Virgin Atlantic founder Richard Branson has joined the list of investors in the new mobile payment start-up Square.
For context, the geeks and executives of Silicon Valley know Branson is someone who likes to go big and news of his investment has spawned rumors that Square will soon take over the world.
A little behind on what Square does? Tech Crunch explains:
The company, founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, launched in 2010 as a way for people and businesses to accept credit card payments on their mobile devices.
It's aim is to run credit card companies out of business.
