Time stopped for five days when Barbara Locker's 8-year-old autistic son went missing in the North Anna Battlefield Park.

Robert Wood was with his father and his father's girlfriend when he disappeared two weeks ago. Hundreds of volunteers gathered to find him.

"All of the people, I couldn't believe for my son to be missing and then for everybody to come together like that,” Locker says.

She searched with them for days, screaming at the top of her lungs for her lost son. By the following Friday, she feared Robert might not survive the night.

But that wasn't the case. Robert was found in a rock quarry alive.

"He reached his hand out to my face like that and that's when I saw his hand was really cold, really purple and he was scratched up,” she says.

At the hospital where Robert is recovering, doctors discovered he had a tear in his esophagus, most likely from something he ate while alone.

Back home, there's a wall of cards wishing him well.

"Now that I got Robert, I don't want to let him go,” Locker says.
