Johnson, facing extortion and bribery charges in federal court, earlier pleaded guilty to one count of extortion and one count of evidence tampering.

The FBI undercover video begins as Johnson walks into the Laurel office of Dr. Mirza Baig.

Johnson plops down in a chair. They exchange uncomfortable small talk. Johnson even brags that as he nears the end of his eight years as county executive he hasn't been caught taking bribes like the one he'd come to collect.

He wasn't careful enough because after a few minutes, Johnson is caught on camera a big wad of bribe money in hand.

A recording made on another occasion shows how the doctor/developer would pull cash for Johnson right out of his pocket. Johnson grabs it and then promises that his newly elected councilwoman wife Leslie Johnson would continue the family tradition of crooked politics after he leaves office.

Seconds later the FBI burst in on Johnson. That video has not been released.

U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein said that not long after taking office in 2002, Johnson began to squeeze developers for hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and gifts in exchange for government favors.

A sentencing agreement between the government and Johnson suggests that Johnson could get 10 years behind bars. The judge, who is responsible for sentencing, is not bound by the agreement.

Authorities said Leslie Johnson flushed a $100,000 check down a toilet and stuffed cash in her bra on the day she was arrested with her husband. Johnson pleaded guilty in June to destroying evidence
