Trooper shoots Michael King in Upper Marlboro

A Maryland State Trooper shot and wounded a Prince George’s County man in Upper Marlboro Wednesday.
The trooper, Wesley Jefferson, a four-year veteran, shot and wounded Michael King, 31. He was wounded in the head and torso.
King was taken to a local hospital for treatment and charges against him are pending.
The incident began when police were serving a warrant on King’s residence, in the 9200 block of Goldenrod Lane, in Upper Marlboro, at about 8:30 a.m.
When police were inside the residence King charged at the them with a knife, police say. Jefferson then shot and wounded King.
