Tune Inn reopening months after fire
November 4, 2011 - 05:12 am
A landmark in D.C. is set to reopen Friday morning.
Several months after a fire did serious damage to the kitchen and restaurant areas of the Tune Inn in June, the historic Capitol Hill watering hole plans to reopen its doors.
Supporters raised $40,000 to help employees who were put out of work by the fire.
The bar's owners rebuilt the kitchen and repaired smoke and water damage to other areas of the building.
Residents of the area and regulars to the bar were heartbroken at the time of the fire.
"It's an establishment," D.C. resident Anthony Demario said. "It's a D.C. fixture, especially on the Hill."
