UMD robbery leaves student shaken, but uninjured
A University of Maryland student was robbed at knife-point late Thursday, but no one was injured.
During late night hours, a male student was walking in the area of Lot Y past Cecil Hall when two men wearing masks approached him, according to a UMD press release.
One of the men displayed a knife and demanded property from the student.
Following the robbery, the men walked away. The student was not injured.
The student described one man as 6-foot with a medium build and dreadlocks. He was wearing black ski pants and black top. The second man was described as 6-foot with a small to medium build, also wearing dark clothing and a face mask. Both men were described as African-American.
The robbery was the first in a year to be reported to university police.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at police 911 or 301-405-3555. People may also email any information to investigations@umpd.umd.edu.
