U. Va. male students report being sexually assaulted by man
Multiple male students have reported being sexually assaulted by a suspect in a series of nighttime incidents at residences near the University of Virgina, officials said.
In each case, the victims reported awakening to find themselves being groped, officials said.
Charlottesville police say they believe the same suspect has walked into five different off-campus homes since September and groped male students as they slept.
“It is pretty scary, but we are taking precautions,” said one student.
Detectives say each time, the attacker has entered the home through an unlocked door.
The university and police warned students via the alert system. Police say they have received additional crime reports after the first alert was sent out.
U.Va. police describe the suspect as a thin black male in his 20s or 30s.
