Woman killed in hit-and-run on Route 3 in Prince George's County
Police are looking for a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident on Route 3 earlier this morning in Prince George's County.
About 12:30 a.m., police received a 911 call from a motorist saying a pedestrian was seen walking in the roadway in the northbound lanes of Maryland Route 3, south of Route 450, Annapolis Road, according to a news release.
Moments later, police received calls of a pedestrian who had been struck by a motorist who had fled the scene.
Troopers found the body of an unidentified woman in her 20s. She appeared to have been struck by at least one vehicle.
Witnesses reported seeing a light colored vehicle stopped near the scene of the crash. Later, another witness reported seeing two people standing near a light colored vehicle with a broken windshield and a damaged hood in the parking lot of a nearby business, the news release said.
The Maryland State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact 1-800-492-8477.
