Woodbridge teen arrested after implying gun in candy robbery
A Woodbridge teenager who allegedly try to steal candy from two people on Halloween night ended up getting the trick himself.
Prince William County Police arrested a 17-year-old boy in Dale City just before 9 p.m. Monday on charges that he, along with four others, assaulted two other teenagers, aged 15 and 17, after they refused to give up their candy in the area of Redwing Drive and Starling Court.
One of the suspects allegedly implied that he had a gun while demanding the sweets. When the victims refused, they were assaulted.
The suspect under arrest has been charged with robbery and assault by mob. He is being held at a juvenile detention facility.
Prince William County Police spokesman John Perok says, "it doesn't matter what was taken, it's the fact that it was a robbery."
Neighbor Jerie Williams says she is appalled that "kids are preying on others who are out celebrating a holiday."
Police say they are looking for four others in connection with Monday night's crime.
"It's likely others were victims and just haven't call police," Perok said.
