5 injured in carjacking in SE

Five people were injured when the vehicle they allegedly stole crashed into a pole.
About 1 p.m., Metropolitan Police responded to a crash near the intersection of Naylor Road and Denver Street SE, according to police.
The vehicle that was crashed was a stolen Jeep Cherokee, police said. The car had crashed into a Pepco pole, but did not suffer extensive damage.
Five people were taken to the hospital. Their ages and conditions were not immediately available.
