Clifton Vial survived 3 days on frozen beer
A 52-year-old Alaskan native survived three days on frozen Coors Light when his truck got stuck in a snow drift.
Clifton Vial became stranded when his pick-up truck got stuck in a snowdrift after running off a road 40 miles north of his home in Nome, Ala.
The Anchorage Daily News reports:
"I felt really pissed at myself," Vial said. "I shouldn't have been out there by myself unprepared for what I knew was possible."
Normally Vial carries a sleeping bag, extra gas and other survival gear. But on this trip, he had few supplies, no food and no water.
The cold was worse than the hunger, but when he scoured the pickup for food he found he only had a few cans of Coors Light that had frozen solid, which he ate like cans of beans.
"I cut the lids off and dug it out with a knife," he said.
