A blown transformer in downtown D.C. Thursday night cracked windows in a nearby office building, police say.
Authorities say that an underground transformer exploded in the 1100 block of G Street near Metro Center overnight.
Both directions of G Street were closed for a period of time while Pepco crews made repairs.
