Eastbound Dulles Greenway closed due to serious accident
December 1, 2011 - 07:30 am
Four people were injured in a serious, multi-car accident that shut down the eastbound Dulles Greenway during the Thursday morning rush hour.
The accident occurred near the exit for Claiborne Parkway, between the Sycolin Road overpasses, at about 6:40 a.m.
One of the vehicles involved in the crash was a Virginia State Police cruiser, authorities say. The State Police supervisor in the car was among the injured. None of the four people injured suffered life-threatening injuries.
As of 8:20 a.m., commuters reported that the eastbound lanes had completely reopened.
In the immediate aftermath of the crash, only slow trickle of cars made their way through the crash scene on the left shoulder.
