Eric Jerome Brown charged in murder of Mount Rainier teenager
Prince George's County Police arrested a 24-year-old man on Saturday in connection with the shooting death of a teenager in Mount Rainier.
Authorities say that they arrested Eric Jerome Brown of Northeast D.C. on Saturday, just a day after 16-year-old Dontae John Cook was found shot and killed in an apartment building.
The shooting occurred just after 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 4600 block of 25th Street in Mount Rainier. Cook was found with a gunshot wound in the hallway of an apartment building.
He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say they obtained a warrant for Brown, of the 200 block of Webster Street NE, and arrested him Saturday in the U Street corridor.
Brown is awaiting extradition to Prince George's County and is charged with first-degree murder.
