Flood watch issued for majority of D.C. area

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for several parts of the D.C. metro area for Wednesday afternoon and evening.
The watch covers the following areas: the District of Columbia, Anne Arundel County, Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Arlington County, Falls Church, Fairfax County and City, Alexandria, Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park.

The NWS says periods of moderate to heavy rain are expected starting during the afternoon and lasting into the evening. 1-2" of rain is expected in some areas.
