Girl, 2, found alone in Capitol Heights apartment

Prince George's County Police rescued a 2-year-old girl from a Capitol Heights apartment where she had been left alone for 24 hours, officials said.
The 2-year-old was rescued from an apartment in the 6900 block of Walker Mill Road, Prince George's County Police said via Twitter.
Officers found the girl in a bedroom, hungry and cold. The tweet indicated the girl had been left alone for at least 24 hours.
A county police spokesperson said the girl's father was in custody but that charges were pending.
