Hoyas freshman Tyler Adams out because of heart concerns
December 10, 2011 - 11:44 am
WASHINGTON (AP) - Georgetown freshman forward Tyler Adams will be sidelined indefinitely because of concerns about the health of his heart.
The team said before its home game Saturday against Howard that the 6-foot-9 Adams, of Brandon, Miss., is having a series of tests on his heart at Georgetown University Hospital.
Coach John Thompson III says in a statement issued by the team that when Adams will be able to return to practice or games "is irrelevant. His health is at the forefront of our concerns."
Adams has averaged 2.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in four games with the 18th-ranked Hoyas. He had eight points and six rebounds in Georgetown's victory over NJIT last weekend.
