I-66 car accident kills 89-year-old woman

An 89-year-old woman was killed in a two-car accident on westbound I-66 in Manassas on Wednesday morning, Virginia State Police say.
Police say that the crash, which happened just after 9:45 a.m. near the exit for Sudley Road, occurred when the the victim attempted to turn her Chevrolet Lumina into the emergency cross-over in the median.
A Ford Ranger traveling westbound was unable to stop in time and struck the Lumina on the driver's side. The two teenage occupants of the Ford were taken to Prince William Hospital with minor injuries.
Police say that no charged will be filed. The accident is still under investigation.
