The Chevy Chase Village Police Department is investigating a theft from an area preschool.

A suspect entered the All Saints Preschool Friday morning during the busy drop-off period, police said. He talked to a receptionist. While staff was busy with the children outside, the suspect entered several rooms in the preschool. “The suspect stole cash and a Metro farecard from two purses,” according to the police statement.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He is approximately 35-45 years old, with a clean-shaven head. He was dressed in a black thigh-length coat with the collar upturned, black pants and black shoes, police said. He wore a large silver crucifix/cross around his neck on a chain.

Police say the man tried to get into three more schools, all close to All Saints Preschool, which is at 3 Chevy Chase Circle in Chevy Chase, Md. The man attempted the same trick at Chevy Chase Baptist, Chevy Chase Presbyterian, and Blessed Sacrament, police allege. They ask anyone with information contact Chevy Chase Village Police Department at 301-654-7300.
