A woman who was struck by a Ride On bus in Rockville has died.

Jila Hamideh, 63, of the 200 block of Congressional Lane in Rockville, died Friday night, according to a Montgomery County news release.

On Wednesday at 5:57 p.m., a Ride On bus was traveling west on Halpine Road when the driver attempted to turn right onto Rockville Pike, the release said.

The bus hit Hamideh who was crossing west in the northbound lanes of Rockville Pike.

She was taken to Suburban Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ride On bus was identified as Fredy Oscar Velasquez, 58, of the 800 block of Harrington Road.

This collision remains under investigation.
