A man was fatally stabbed in Southeast late Saturday, police said.

Kevin Blackwell, Jr., 20, of Southeast, was stabbed to death, police said in a news release.

At 10:36 p.m., police responded to the 900 block of Burns Street SE to investigate an assault, the news release said.

Police found a man suffering from a stab wound to his body. He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, the release said.

No other information was immediately known.
