Layaway angels are this season's secret santas

Terry Artis was hoping to give a bike as a Christmas present to her son. But with a balance still left on her layaway, she was facing the unpleasant reality that she couldn’t buy it.
Hours later, a complete stranger walked in, slid his credit card and paid off the rest of Artis' balance
It's people like that who layaway angels want to help. So far this holiday season, four anonymous donors have walked up to the counter at a Kmart in Oxon Hill and dished out cash to pay-off layaway accounts to those most in need.
Kmart clerk Calvin Jenkins says when people get the call and pick up their paid off items, they're in disbelief
