Leesburg Valemount Terrace shooting leaves man dead in own home

The first version of this story stated that a suspect was at large. Leesburg Police say the incident is "contained" and there is no danger to the community. We regret the error.
Leesburg Police say that they found a 39-year-old man shot and killed in the 800 block of Valemount Terrace SE at 10:17 p.m. Thursday. The victim was found dead inside his home with a single gunshot wound.
The incident was contained to the home and does not pose a threat to the surrounding community, authorities said.
Investigators continue to pursue leads. Anyone with information is urged to contact Leesburg Police.
