Manassas school bus fire leads to no injuries
December 8, 2011 - 08:02 am
A school bus with several children on board caught fire in Manassas on Thursday morning, fire officials say, but no injuries are reported.
Prince William County Fire officials say the bus caught fire at about 6:50 a.m. in the 10400 block of Butterfield Street in Manassas. Four special-needs students and a driver were on the bus at the time.
When the driver smelled smoke, which turned out to be a fire in the engine compartment, the bus was evacuated. The students were transferred to another bus.
The fire is still under investigation.
