MARYLAND
Maryland has most boating fatalities since 1992
December 30, 2011 - 06:28 pm
BALTIMORE (AP) - Maryland has had more boating fatalities this year than any year since 1992.
The Baltimore Sun reports 25 people died in boating accidents this year, ranging in age from 14 to 81. Only one, the youngest, was female.
Natural Resources Police spokesman Sgt. Art Windemuth says warm weather in May coaxed recreational boaters out early, and continued good weather increased the level of activity on the water.
