Nick Young signs with Wizards
The Washington Wizards have re-signed restricted free agent Nick Young, the team announced Monday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Washington Post reports that Young will sign a one-year, $3.7 million qualifying offer.
Young was the Wizards' 2007 1st round draft pick, taking him 16th overall out of USC.
"His size, shooting ability and athleticism allow him to get his own shot and compliment our other backcourt players, making him a valuable part of our young core," Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld said in a statement.
Young was Washington's leading scorer in 2010-11, averaging a career-high 17.4 points per game. He missed the Wizards' first preseason game last week, a loss at home to Philadelphia, while negotiating with the team.
