Pedestrian struck on I-270 in Germantown

GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash on Interstate 270 in Germantown that has shut down a lane and created major traffic delays.
Police say the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Wednesday on southbound I-270 at Exit 15 for Germantown Road. As of 6:45 a.m., the right shoulder and right lane in the area were closed.
The exit ramp to Germantown Road was also shut down.
Two other lanes on the highway remained open, but backups in the
area extended for about a mile.
Delays on the freeway currently stretch for miles.
