Police shooting in Capitol Heights turns fatal

Police shot and killed an armed man in Prince George’s County Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after noon, police got a call from a man living in the 6700 block of Valley Park Road in Capitol Heights. The man said he was distraught and armed.
When police responded, a 43-year-old man came outside waving a handgun, police said.
Words were exchanged and police shot him.
He was alone in the house.
A nearby school was put on lock-down during the incident.
No one else was injured.
