UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) - Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker says he'll be looking at "almost everything" as an option to raise new revenue and deal with a possible budget shortfall.

The county has a projected budget gap of more than $100 million, and new data expected next month could widen that figure. Prince George's has a $2.7 billion budget and has limited ability to raise property taxes because of a voter-approved tax cap.

Baker tells The Washington Post that "everything" translates into a probable increase in the state's gas tax and discussion about bringing slot machine gambling into the county.

The Democrat will be working hard during the upcoming General Assembly session to secure funding for various projects and to lessen the impact of shifting teacher pension costs to the county.
