In a wild second half of lead changes, the Vikings held on at the end to beat the Redskins 33-26. The Vikings broke a six-game losing streak and handed the Redskins their sixth straight loss at home.

After a Gano FG with 1:25 left in the game pulled the Redskins within seven points, the defense stopped the Vikings.

The Redskins offense got the ball back at the Washington 36 with 55 seconds to go.

Grossman completed two passes sandwiched around a Redskins penalty that included a 10-second run off.

But as time ran out, Grossman's last, desperation pass was knocked down in the end zone.

Peterson, Ponder hurt; Vikings top Redskins 33-26

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings survived injuries to Adrian Peterson and Christian Ponder on back-to-back plays Saturday to end a six-game losing streak, beating the Washington Redskins 33-26.

Toby Gerhart filled in for Peterson and set up a touchdown with a 67-yard run, and Joe Webb threw for two touchdowns and ran for another while subbing for Ponder.

Webb's 8-yard pass to Percy Harvin broke a 23-all tie early in the fourth quarter, and rookie Mistral Raymond's first career interception set up Ryan Longwell's 23-yard field goal that gave the Vikings a 10-point lead with 4:05 to play.

The Vikings are 3-12. The Redskins lost their sixth straight home game to fall to 5-10.

Peterson's left knee was hurt on the first offensive play of the second half. Ponder suffered a concussion.

Helu out, Brown back for Redskins; 2 Vikings out with concussions

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Concussions are keeping Minnesota Vikings seven-time Pro Bowl left guard Steve Hutchinson and cornerback Asher Allen out of Saturday's game against the Washington Redskins.

Both were hurt the previous week against the New Orleans Saints.

Hutchinson missed a game for the first time this year. He has started every game in nine of his 12 NFL seasons, missing 12 with a broken leg in 2002 and five last year with a thumb injury.

Rookie running back Roy Helu is inactive for the Redskins with knee and toe injuries. Helu entered the weekend leading NFC rookies with 47 receptions and had rushed for 100 yards in three of his previous four games.

Washington right tackle Jammal Brown is active after missing two games with an injured right groin.
